Customs : DELTA project - towards an e-administration

It’s now certain : the official deployment of DELTA (automatic on-line customs clearance) will be operational on 1 January 2007. Developed by French Customs in order to dematerialize transit procedures, DELTA saves time and money.

For many years now, European leader in customs software, CONEX, has undertaken to anticipate this significant change for its 700 users, forwarding agents, customs brokers and importers / exporters. CONEX’s transmission platform is 100% compatible with the DELTA procedure. DELTApass, approved by customs administrations, assures that transit declarations are sent, and all via a simple Internet link.

The enormous daily volume of data from nearly 700 operators, currently formulated and dispatched via the CONEX platforms, will be treated according to the DELTA procedure without interruption or delay: “No question of the slightest hiccup!” declared Alban GRUSON, founder and CEO of CONEX: another form of engagement.

The DELTApass solution is a transmission and traceability protocol, a software package installed in the operator’s workplace. The transit professional will be able to prepare declarations using technical tools of high quality integration all from his/her own desk . No matter how big or small, CONEX’s clients are ensured a complete ERP and EAI main information systems-treatment.
Beyond customs clearance declarations, DELTApass anticipates the dematerialisation of supplementary documents that the DELTA customs procedure has not yet incorporated.

CONEX now operates on a European scale: through its multi-language interface and on-the-ground analysis of European transit procedures. The leading customs software creator defends its vision of Europe on two levels: a vision of pragmatism and efficiency in the transit of goods on a continent seen as the crossroads of the world, and a vision of anticipation of the great changes brought about by globalisation.
